Who else would think up a 200 KPH (124 MPH) crash for a test but a bunch of sadists from a third world European country. Guess what, It ain’t where you think. It’s Switzerland.

2. Firing guns.
If neither of those are available, I reckon crashing Volvos is an appropriate past time.

I suppose it is to analyze what will be left of the bodies so the morticians and medical examiners will know what to expect to deal with.
